Bodyguard
Training
If you wish to operate as a bodyguard in the UK you will
need Bodyguard training by a company that is licensed to
provide such training.
In the UK it is now illegal to work in the Close Protection field without a Close Protection license
issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
Their are many companies worldwide that provide bodyguard
training courses and it all depend where you intend to work
after completion. As stated above if you wish to work in
the UK you need your bodyguard training to be provided by
a company who is accredited by the SIA.
If you are planning to work outside the UK one of the oldest
bodyguard organizations is the International Bodyguard
Association which was established in Paris in 1957.
How much does Bodyguard Training cost?
Bodyguard training costs vary dramatically from around £500
for an overview of the requirements of a bodyguard to a full
training course which may involve 3 weeks of full time
training. The courses will cover most aspects of bodyguard
training including firearms training, threat and risk assessment,
advanced defensive driving skills and much more. For this
type of course you should expect to pay around £5000 and
at the end of such a course you should receive a certificate
assuming you have successfully completed the course.
